Confiscated
By: MalCompl-X
The heart beats heavy when our freedom's strained,
So I embody the soul of our people and remain unchained.
Is it a felony to be black, or is it just too damn complicated?
We are who they say we are, right?
Our identity has been confiscated...
Why is it that our culture is dictated by reality shows?
Fathers see their daughters strip naked as video ho's.
But remember the road,
You paved it, when you left it alone.
Your silence helped build it up, by saying nothing you’re wrong.
But niggas only talk shit, while black men can accomplish...
Accomplish anything, and cast our weakness and fears aside.
Fight with our blood, sweat and tears,
Fight for change even if it takes years.
Because a true man knows no matter how high you get there ain't nowhere to hide!
I don't need to play the cards I was dealt, because that will lead me to hell...
So instead I'll change the game,
Make my life what I make it...
I'll dictate my own identity no matter what they try to impose on me...
Bcuz my identity and my soul cannot be, and never will be,
Sold, traded, lost, or Confiscated!
