One Step Closer To Zion

BarakeXcapethenatriX.com was created because I wanted an outlet to help people. I wanted to make a change in society and wake up the masses. It has always been of great importance to me that people open their eyes and refuse to be clouded by what the status quo presents to them on a daily basis. I have been blessed to have an amazing staff walk beside me and with every issue we open someone else’s eyes.

Tuesday June 3rd, 2008 will go down in history. On that night Barack Obama became the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. For the 1st time in this countries history a man of African descent is one step away from becoming the President of the United States.

It’s with great pride that I can officially say that eXcapethematriX.com officially endorses Senator Barack Obama.

Barack Obama’s 2004 Speech at the Democratic National Convention Part I

This son of a Kenyan Father and Caucasian mother from Kansas offers something that I have honestly not seen from a presidential candidate in my 28 years of living….Hope and Change. Now understand this. Bill Clinton was a friend to the African American community in some peoples eyes, but my Hope for change comes with looking into the eyes of a brother who is of my race. Now I don’t want anyone to get it twisted. I personally support Barack because of his ideals, but please understand that I can’t contain myself when I think that my son (when I am blessed with one) has the chance to grow up in a world where it will be common for a Black man to be President of this country and not simply a dream…..My God.

Back in January it was a forgone conclusion that Hillary Clinton would be the nominee for the Democrats….then came Iowa. Barack Obama not only won Iowa but Hillary came in 3rd place behind John Edwards as well. This started to open peoples eyes as most were staunchly behind “The Clintons”. Slowly but surely folks started to learn more and more about the Illinois Senator. Now he has been truly tested by the “Clinton Machine” and has also had controversy rear its ugly head in the form of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezco and even Geraldine Ferraro, and here he still stands….

The journey is not over. The closer we get to Zion the harder the journey will become. Even if Senator Obama does become the President we still have a long road ahead of us before the masses are awake as a whole. The beauty of this chapter, however, will be that millions of children will have something new to aspire to WHEN he wins (I’m just going to speak it into existence here and now). I pray that our nation can collectively open at least one eye and inhale deep the sweet aroma of positive change. It’s sad to me that it has taken THIS long for someone of African descent to reach this level. I pray that after Barack it is never an issue again.

I have a lot of hope for this country. The “Original sin of slavery” as Barack says, looms heavy over this nation and it should never be forgotten. But with everyday and with every person who wakes up and embraces positivity, the mental chains loosen. We….not just Black, not just White, Not just Asian, Latino or Native American….we meaning ALL of us, are capable of so much more in this world if we simply open our eyes and join together. To some people it’s far fetched….but I dare to Hope….I dare to know that it’s possible…..are YOU truly prepared to eXcape? Well thankfully Barack Obama is.
