Dear Mom
Please forgive me for not being there as much as I should
And for sometimes not being as kind as I could
I know that you do
In many ways we are much the same
I want you to know that you are not to blame
I am working still on the man and son
That one day I will become
Even though we have been apart
I always have you in my heart
Your strength and courage I have seen
They too are in me
From your grateful son
You are there whenever I have needed you
Always caring and providing
Thank you for giving me a mother’s love
