Editor's Note - ZODIAC' _________________________'

I’ve always found it quite peculiar that some religious types think it’s foolish to believe in astrology. Some have even said it’s the work of the Devil (I literally just shook my head as I was typing that). What I think is so interesting is how folks can’t find anything useful in the zodiac yet as people who believe in God they also believe in luck.

I’ve held several conversations with people younger and older than me who are superstitious. I always look at them with a *side eye* because how can one believe in God but believe in luck? If you can break a mirror and have seven years bad luck, did God have a hand in that? A Black cat crosses your path and now you have bad luck? Huh? So God’s will was for a cat to cross your path so you can be screwed for any number of years? Hats on tables, a purse on the ground; All of these things you believe in, yet you can’t believe in planets? You do believe God created the universe right? Within that universe are planets right? You can eXplain why a cat can dictate the course of your life but not why looking deeper into the role that the planets play in your life can help guide you? What a matriX to eXist in indeed.

Well, that’s why we have the Zodiac issue of ETM. Each year we pay the proper respect to one of the great areas of understanding. This year I wanted to have someone on the cover who understands a lot when it comes to spirituality, religion and astrology. luminoUS and I both sat down to converse with Navasha Daya, former lead singer of Fertile Ground who’s now venturing out on her own as a solo artist. I gather you’ll learn a lot about this beautiful sister as well as about yourself after reading both interviews. She has had quite a journey and it’s continuing in an awesome direction. She’s in a very happy place right now.

I think it’s important for everyone to learn about both sides of an argument before belittling something. My earlier comments about luck only come as someone who used to make sure he never “split a pole”. Then one day I had to honestly stop and think; what am I doing? Thankfully I was still young at the time, some have not been so……lucky. With that being said I ask that those of you who take issue with astrology please do your homework. I make it a habit to study both sides always as to never sound like I’m just talking out of my a**. We can learn a lot about ourselves and a lot about the universe and each other if we take the time to just open our eyes and free our minds. Astrology has taught me a great deal about myself. It is not my only basis of understanding who I am, but it has helped a great deal.

Peace to each of you. I hope this issue of ETM helps you in the most positive manner possible and I hope you spread that positive energy to someone else. Pay it forward…..

BE PEACE
